Hi all,
About 4-5 weeks ago, I did a transmission service on my Jackaroo. It's a 2000 3.5 auto.
I cycled about 2 litres of Valvoline ATF DX3, and 8 litres of Caltex Texamatic 1888 (DX3). After a very short while, the transmission started to slip in 3rd and 4th gear.
Before the change everything was fine, after the change there's problems so I thought there must be something wrong with the Caltex fluid.
So 3 days later, with very little driving in between and using the in-laws Commodore instead while they're overseas, I cycled through 10 another litres of Valvoline DX3. Things have improved now but there is still some slip that can be induced easily.
It's weird too because my fuel consumption has reduced after the change, and I find that it can cruise easily at a higher speed. Also, no problems if I leave it in power mode, it all occurs in normal mode.
Any ideas?
It's going in for timing belt, water pump and valve adjustment in a couple of weeks. Will get them to look at it. In the meantime, it's always in power mode now.
