Intermittent engine cutting out while driveing?

My 2006 3lt TD Rodeo cuts out at any time, any speed, any gear with no set pattern. Most times the cut out will last for a milli-second to several seconds and longer, giving enough time for the engine "icon" to come on. By leaving it in gear, the car's momentum keeps the engine spinning till it fires up only to have it happen again + again + again 10 or 50 or 500 metres down the road. On many occasions it doesn't restart at all so i have to pull off the road, turn the ignition off, wait 30sec's and away we go again. It has a new EGR valve and ALL the electrical connections have been inspected (all in perfect condition), all the fuel system is good, disconnected the veh immobilizer (no difference), also bridged out all the active terminals on the back of the ignition switch to eliminate a faulty switch (no difference). My Innova Scanner displays fault code CO 282 then go to www.pro.innova.com for the definition. This then tells me that the code ''CO 282'' is for Isuzu / Holden's private use only and is not available to the public*****.   Sorry about the long winded story.   Can anybody out there offer some suggestions to help find the cause of this problem, it would be very much appreciated.  THANKS Guys. headache.
