Hopefully somebody will know if my problem can be fixed........
I recently had a reco engine put in the fronty. After waiting a lifetime (like 10 weeks), I get the truck back on the road and after 3 days, it is playing up so back to the mechanic. Oh, its only running on the 3 left side cylinders!!!
After testing and trying every scenario, he eventually says the problem is the cat converter. So he replaces (at no cost) and tells me everything is now sweet.
Heres the thing, now when in gear it sounds like somebody is in the gearbox dinging a bell. It is really loud particularly at high revs in 1st and 2nd.
I took it back (again!) and mechanic told me it is only because the cat converter is new and clean, therefore echoing and sounding different.
I have now been driving for about 3 weeks and the noise isn't getting any better or softer....apart from the noise, the engine hasn't missed a beat and sounds great when idling.
Does this sound right? Should I ignore the noise or do I need to get somebody else to check it out?
