Helllo all,
I as the heading suggest have a major oil leak in my 2000 model Jackaroo with the 4JX1 engine.
It started a while back, the car died it squirted out a heap of oil on the passenger side of the engine (it even went in the the rim of the wheel). I replaced the oil filter. It started but was dribbling oil and it appeared to be coming from the oil pump. Thought it was to hard to fix on the side of the road so sent to mechanic.
Mechanic pulled pump out and replaced the seals etc. Started car and noticed oil coming from the front of the engine. Thinking it was camshaft oil seal. He gave up after having the car for six months. So went to a friends mechanic. He got it started and notice oil puddles from the passenger side side of the car but he thinks its above the pump and didnt want to touch it.
So I now have it back and I started pulling things apart to check on what the first mechanic said and noticed oil all over the alternator and a pipe (have not figured out where it goes yet).
Can a blown head gasket do that?
I do have photos and have attached them.
Any help would be appreciated.
