Hope you can help me out
My 2008 RA Turbo Diesel Auto has done about 80,000 kms and I am having intermittent problem. I have been to three different Holden Dealers and an Auto electrician but all to no avail.
Basically when I start the car and put it in gear - drive or reverse - it will stop running. It can then be difficult to re-start. Once going it runs ok again. Just once the check engine light came on and when I restarted the next day the light had gone out.
Problem is it only does it every now and then - it will go weeks at a time without doing it and then it will do it for a day or two min a row. Of course usually when you are trying to get somewhere in a hurry.
I took it into Holden and they reckon they can't find the problem. There solution was keep driving it until one day when it just doesn't start and they will fix it then. They checked the computer but couldn't find any faults.
There alternatives was to start replacing the bits they "think" it could be but cost is over $1000. They are talking about VSV / EGR and some other sensors and stuff.
Has anyone had a similar problem that they can shed some light on the diagnosis.
As I said I went to different dealers and they charge me to download the computer and then tell me they are not sure what is causing it.
