I have a problem with my frontera after taking it through a water crossing I lost drive a couple of ks after, the gear box was rebuild late last year, when I put the car in d or any other gear I get nothing like its in neutral, the car will drive in winter mode and change to fourth, I have so far checked fluid and condition ok removed all gearbox electrical connections, blowen out and cleaned, removed gear selector switch cleaned regressed and realigned this is working as dash lights are working and ecu recognizes change in drive selection as it increases rpm, I've spoken to gearbox rebuilder and recommended I check trailer plug so I disconnected plug and no change, I have scan gauge 2 fitted and this is bringing up no codes, a repair shop 2 doors down have a snap on scanner and this didn't communicate with ecu but a auto link divice did and no errors showing, have checked all fuses all ok
Iam leaning towards a mechanical fault with gearbox but have had no issues with it untill water crossing, it's also fitted with a big trans cooler, so iam more thinking a gremlin in the electrical system,
Any help would be great as it's got be stumped and it's my daily driver.
