Recently needed brakes done so took the 2002 Monterey V6 to the local mechanic. Job completed new pads all round and replaced front rotors.
My wife picked the car up and all was well until I drove it the next day and noticed the ABS light on. Took it back to the mechanic and he said that the "ABS Rotor Sensor Rings" broke when he removed the rotors and he would get them in and fit them. Don't know why he didn't tell me this when the car was picked up and guess that if I hadn't said anything then he would not have volunteered the information but thats another story. He now tells me that he is unable to source the parts as "Holden stopped making them". I explained that maybe Izuzu would be a better source however he said that he had spread the word on the wreckers line attempting to source parts.
I cannot see any reference to them in the Jackaroo manual and a search of the forum does not reveal any information.
Am I right in saying that my ABS is not operating?
If so is this legal?
Where can I source the parts - new or used?
Can anyone please help?
