Has anyone done the above conversion for a jack?
I'm doing this on my 97 jack with a 02 engine (I have the whole 02 car actually)
I am hoping it is as simple as engine/trans/loom/ECU out and drop in, but I have a few questions
- Can I keep my old transmission? The new one is a little sad. I see the newer has an ECU which controls both trans and engine as opposed to seperate ECU's int he older car. It also has electronic 4wd selection, which I don't care if I lose it, but want to know if the ECU will work without it
-Keys. Do the last of the Jack's have programmed keys to the ECU? Is there a way around it, or do I need to change over the ignition barrel and wiring with the car too?
Also if there are any other pointers or advice people have from experience, it would be appreciated, since I'll be doing this in a few weeks and will try and squeeze it into a few days work at the same time I'm doing the supercharger install!
