Sleeve time now... pulling tool?

Wow, what a ride...

Ok, so i had the clutch replaced, nice new exedy solid flywheel and clutch and pressure plate.

New brembo pads for front and rear, redid the front hubs as the PO had used so much red sealant it had gummed up the works.

So went camping this weekend, all good and well, drove up to Bestbrook friday arvo.

Sat morning, wife started it up to go for a shower, huge cloud of white smoke, stalled...

Uh oh.

Opened up drain plug on fuel tank, out came a litre of coolant.

You can imagine the words that came out of my mouth!

Drained as much coolant as i could, got the wife to spin it over, and managed to get it started again, smoke went away, ok.. i know im on borrowed time now. Sleeve seals definitely gone.

So today, packed up and left camping grounds, very little power, missing, surging.. awww dammit. Its a 80km odd trip to home.

Lost power completely, was doing 60-70 in 100 zones, started to here the clacking of dry injectors.. what?

We bought the jackaroo (hackaroo) second hand, and was told that it had a brand new fuel filter. So on the side of the road, undid the fuel filter assembly, and unscrewed the filter. Rust...

MORE profanity as you can imagine. Poured out white/greenish milky water/diesel, holy crap.

Put it back on, couldn't bleed it. Wouldnt start... aww. Borrowed the radiator overflow hose and managed to suck diesel up from the tank through the filter, was able to finally bleed it, and of we went.... slowly..

Started clacking again, couldnt get past 3k rpm, missing/surging....  Filter must be completely blocked.

SOOO.. had in the car an electric fuel assist pump, planned on putting it on as a lift pump.

Also had the camping battery.

I did the horrible thing, and took the filter out of the line, replaced it with the electric fuel pump, dropped the camping battery into the spare area under the bonnet, tick tick tick goes the fuel pump, and YES. We have power!!

Doing this i know i have probably done the injectors in. I was already planning on replacing them but i will get them tested first, they may just need a clean.

So yea, exciting nearly 4 hour trip home involving multiple stops, suckin on fuel lines, draining coolant out of fuel tank, and just general side of the road wrenching. 4JX1s DO run on diesel thats milky, got a green tinge and smells a bit funky... gotta hand them that.

I did top the tank off with fresh diesel first chance i got, and that made a big difference as well, with more diesel to coolant ratio haha.

We are home now, grounded the hackaroo, already got a seal kit for injectors, gonna do the sleeve seals this week.

So to the point of the post. Anyone got a sleeve puller, even one of the dynabolt ones in north brisbane? Or, happy to pay in cash/beer, come and yank these stupid things out? I will do all the other work, my mate is a ex army diesel mech, and between him and me we can do anything to this damn engine apart from get those sleeves out.

If anyone has information on how to build one, use one from REPCO, or .. ANY info whatsoever, it would be greatly appreciated.

Wife has only just got the hackaroo back (its hers) after a month waiting for the clutch rebuild, and now its off the road again she is getting annoyed.

I have researched, and found that you can make a puller out of a dynabolt and a welder, but i have no welder. So either i have to buy one, borrow/beg for one, or break into a holden dealership and steal it.

Sigh...
