I have a 2000 Jackaroo Auto with the 4XJ1 engine. Had no problems until 4 weeks ago. After many attempts and advice from several people, I have come to the conclusion that the best idea is to re-power.
Only thing I want to keep is the fact that it is Automatic.
That leaves more questions that I have answer too.
1 - Do I put up with the problems and keep spending money?
2 - Look to put another Diesel engine in?
- What engine will fit?
- Do I go for more or the same power level?
3 - Look to change to a Petrol engine?
- What engine will fit?
- Again what power do I want?
4 - I have changed engines before (same to same) but not fitted something different.
- What Issues am I likely to come across?
