Hopeing there is some one out there in the frustrating world of 4JX1 motors that can help me with this.
I own a 2000 3.0l jackaroo. i bought the car cheap as it had running issues but i took the chance that i could repair myself with help from friends in the automotive industry.
When purhased engine started quite easily but ran rough and was told by previous owner that glow plugs were shot and holden dealership could only get one out so in fairness it started well on one glow plug only.the running issue was wireing loom and pressure switch which i replaced. trouble free running and starting for about 7000ks. then injector sleave seals went so made a tool to remove them and fixed that. Ever since that was done car starts but only after about 5mins of cranking and swearing.So replaced all the glow plugs took about 4 weeks of mucking around but got them out .Still does not want to start. Once running it is faultless great no problems on hot start. have checked that power gets to all plugs and stays that way for 180 Seconds 3 minutes . When engine finally springs to life large cloud of unburnt diesel puffs out exhaust pipe which leads me to believe glow plugs still dont bloody work and its not a fuel issue.And now due to all the cranking starter motor is on its way out happy daze.
Can any one help sick of asking professionals who just say its a heap of ###### mate get rid of it.
