Hope no damage by Andrews Airport Parking

A minor omission that I noticed early on with the RG is there is no indicator on the dash as to whether you are in 2wd or 4wd hi or lo.  The round button on the tunnel has a small light of course.  Would be nice if it changed colour but it doesnt.

Last week I lodged the ute with a Melbourne parking mob and left on a jet plane for warmer climates.  I used the electronic fold in mirror function as the parks were tiny.

Anyway, yesterday after 8hrs travel and a mess up with Andrews Airport Parking, my ute was delivered to me at the airport.  The mirrors were back in place but had been adjusted.  We piled in facing a 420km, 6 hr kangaroo infested trip back home in the dark.  We arrived home late last night the roos were thick.

After I got home for some reason I had some concerns that I didnt tell them how to get the mirrors back into position and they had been forced.  Then my heart sunk what if they put the ute into 4wd when fiddling and I didnt realise.  I told myself dont be silly.

Well went out to the ute this morning and omg the bloody thing was in 4wd hi.  I also activated the auto folding option of the mirrors and they went clunk and seemed to reset themselves.  I thought I would wake up out of a bad dream but havent yet.

I am so disappointed that I didnt pick up the fact that it was in 4wd, it didnt feel like it but now I think about it the gear changes were slightly notchy.  I put it down to being a big day and wanting to get home.  Luckily there was no binding feeling, I would have twigged for sure.

I had to call into my local holden dealer about another issue and the service manager doesnt believe that I would have done any damage and to change the transfer case oil as a precaution.

The function of shifting in and out of 4wd on the fly, works without an issue or noise.  The overtemp light didnt illuminate on the dash.

I rang the airport parking mob and they are going down the line that it is my responsibility to ensure that everything is ok before I take off.  They also assure me they are up to speed with all vehicles including Colorados.  But, waiting for a phone call back tomorrow re who is paying for the oil change.

I am cross with myself for not checking in Melbourne but ###### that the parking mob has fiddled and forced.  I dont generally use parking mobs but booked parking through jetstar thinking it was the airport long term parking and next thing I get an email from this mob.

I have edited this post to name Andrews Airport Parking.  I spoke with management today they are aware I will be using social media to vent my disappointment.  They also state it is my issue that I didnt check that they have put the vehicle in 4WD and drove it on the bitumen and delivered it to me at the airport.  Management are not prepared to pay or compensate a cent.
