G'Day All,
I've got a 98 3.5 V6 petrol thats had a check engine light on for about six months. There was no noticeable symptoms except excessive fuel consumption which I didn't put down to an EGR so I Got a K"n "N filter and a 2 1/2" hi flow cat back system which helped the fuel situation but the light was still on but I wasn't concerned about that as I was told it was a Jackaroo thing? I was getting some auto elec work done and he got the code checked and said it was EGR and would cost about $800 at a mechanics to repair
. Bugger that I thought. I had seen a D.I.Y fix on this site and went chasing a secondhand one incase I stuffed It up. $250 Second hand. That was better that $800 but I thought I would try harder. Any way as it turns out a VT Holden Commodore one fits but it faces the opposite way and works. I fitted it the wiring plug fits straight in, turned the key, and started straight up no check engine light. Oh yeah 77 bucks.
