Having difficulty selecting low gear particularly reverse, am in the process of 'reseal kits' through slave and master cylinders which didn't appear to be too bad, but an inspection of the Hydraulic Damper unit indicates complete replacement will be required. Hopefully I will be able to locate all the bits. As an additional check can anyone tell me the design stroke of the slave cylinder push rod on a hydraulically tight system. I have checked my system before attempting any repair and find 11mm to be the total movement which seems light where the first order of levers principle may result in movement of the fork at the business (release bearing) end may only move say 4/5mm. Also the slave cylinder /piston arrangements can accommodate 30 - 35mm of stroke.
I have done the usual checks re pedal linkage wear and cracked bulkhead etc and all seems to be ok.
My after market repair manual does not give this level of detail. Would appreciate any help that may be out there.
