Hi all, I am new to the Forum but I hope somebody is able to give me some advice on this issue, So here goes.
I decided to change the Timing belt on my 2002 Petrol V6 DOHC Rodeo at 144000kms this included Water pump , Idlers, and tensioner.
I followed the Holden Workshop manual for model of engine, I thought to the letter. I even got some tips online about linning up the marks, rotated the motor 2 revolutions after install to check marks lined up again , all good so re-assembled the motor, went for a test drive about 5kms all good, plenty of acceleration just like before the belt change, got home parked it up, went out about approx. 2hrs later started fine then loss of power when about 20mtrs away, went home.
Okay too much going on now the symptoms:
Starts fine, idles perfectly drives perfectly then gets to operating temp and suddenly looses engine power, this will vary in time and distance and severity, sometimes backfire, but you can drive through it and goes well.
I have taken it to local Mechanic he has gone through everything he tells me but the Ecu is not logging any faults, he plugged in the code reader and nothing is showing, but he agrees there is a problem but is unable to locate the cause, He has checked timing and tuned the motor, checked various sensors and fuel pressure and flow, he had it four 2 days and has advised I take it to Holden as they may be able to diagnose further, But at $120per hr I would rather not do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
With Thanks
