4JX1 cylinder head replacement

HI all, after 270,000Kms the old 4JX1 finally succumbed to diesel leaking into the coolant, so much that it was just running out of the overflow bottle during idle.

No probs I thought and armed with the excellent procedures I found on this site I proceeded to pull out the injector sleeves and replace the seals that cause this problem. (For info the 16mm dyno bolt does not fit in my sleeves? so i had to borrow the tool from local isuzu garage)

Unfortunately upon sleeve removal I found corrosion in the cylinder head right where the sleeve seal sits, have replaced them twice but cant cure the leak so am looking for a replacement head.

I have a 2003 Auto with aircon that is an original Philippines car, not a Jap import.

Anyway the local Isuzu garage want 254,000 pesos for a replacement head, thats over 6,300 AUD....... is that the normal sort of price for this part?

I have since seen numerous after market heads from China and even S Africa but has anyone had any experience of these non OEM parts?

The other question I have is are the cylinder heads all the same for 2003 engines? Some people say yep others say they can be different for auto or manual; aircon or non aircon etc..., per the Isuzu catalogue here in the Philippines the part number for my truck is 8-97204-140-0.

The non OEM parts I find all tend to be part number 8972451841. Can anyone supply any info if these non OEM parts are compatible for a straight swap and what is the quality like as they only cost 10% of the OEM price.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
