I was driving home yesterday (2002 Monterey) on the M1. The road was wet and it was raining lightly.
I needed to stop to make a phone call and slowed when I saw a stopping bay ahead and at the last moment the ABS kicked in and I came to a standstill to make my call.
When I restarted I noticed the CHECK light on the TOD system was flashing.
After stopping and checking as much as I could I continued home with no problems but the light continues to flash.
I have done an underbody check and there is nothing obvious to the naked eye - no oil leaks or visible wires etc dislodged.
The vehicle drives normally in 2H but 4WD will not engage when the TOD button is pressed. 4WD operates normally when shifted to low range.
I have researched extensively online and it seems that the TOD Control Unit receives an input from the ABS System which may be something to do with my problem.
Other online suggestions relate to a Vacuum Switch Valve assembly that could be at fault.
Any suggestions as to where the problem may be and/or fixes are welcome.
