I was dreading the idea or having to remove my RPCV for cleaning, having to remove the ECU, fuel filter, fuel pipes, egr, front wheel to get through the wheel arch to get at things, I wasn't keen on doing, so I took an look at it and come up with
quick and easy way to remove the RPCV in minuets, with a easy made tool
The tool was made from an old 1/2 inch drive 1-1/8 af socket, and a old spindle spanner that removes the lock nut from a hand grinder (see photos attached)
I drilled 4 holes in the back of the 1-1/8 socket, to match the pins on the spindle spanner, and that's it, tool made
I later found only two holes required
step 1
I removed the fuel filter guard and the two bolts from the filter housing, slide the filter to one side, (no need to remove it)
there is no need to remove anything else to get access to the RPCV, you only need a good light and something to stand on
step 2
remove the 19mm retaining nut from the RPCV and remove the spacer and coil, from the valve stem
step 3
slide the home made tool over and down the stem of the RPCV, the stem comes through the socket allowing the socket to sit on the nut,
step 4
crack off the valve and remove for cleaning.
after cleaning replace valve in reverse order, refit filter and guard,
hope this will help anybody thinking on doing there valve
