Replacing the 4JX1 with ????????

My 4JX1 looks like it has danced its last dance in my 2002 Jackaroo (injectors etc). Was wondering if anyone has replaced their engine with another model/type? I was thinking of something like the new IMAX/Colarado 3.0 TDI engine. Dont even know if that would fit? OR fix the Injectors and wiring loom once we find out definatly what the issue is but the money is a big issue for me.
Just looking for others view and oppinion.
