Another question

Hi all I have another question for everyone. I have changed the bearings with out an issues but I have ran into one problem. The 3 small screws that hold the locking but into place are now RS yes I managed to round the top of them and had to drill 2 of them out. I am having problems finding counter sunk small screws, can I use a different sort of headed screw for this or does anyone know where I can get them from. I am in Melbourne TIA

i just got a quote from ramin auto spares for 4 new injectors from dubai whare house, great price, so wondering if any one here has recently delt with this supplier. USD $1100.00 posted to me in SA.

 

was this week quoted $3500 from local holden dealer, even the sales person had a laugh but said sorry thats the price :)

 

jack thu a glow plug error on tech 2 today, erased it but feel in short time it will return, so will tack then onto any future purchases.

 

any feedback appreciated .

Colorado rear noise

Hi guys, My Colorado (2011 LTR TD) has a real weird noise coming from what seems to be the rear left side when turning corners mainly right. I've had the springs EFS replaced and inspected but the noise is still there. I've checked all bolts under the tub and lubricated all mounts with no luck. It's like a creaking noise. It's getting unbearable. Has anyone had this issue? Can anyone help me out with some ideas? Cheers!

I missed not having a frontera so I bought another one.

Best condition one i have seen in years

Only fault i can find is that the fuel filler and breather lines have dried out and cracked so anything more the $20 bucks in fuel and it leaks .

So does anyone know where i can source these items from IN or OUT of australia.

PDF Service Manuals

Hi all,

A member of one of the US Trooper forums has made these manuals available for download. They are in PDF format and very detailed.

To uncompress the archives below you will need to download WinRAR from here. For the multi-part archives, download all the parts for the manual you want into the same folder and then use WinRAR to extract the first part. The remaining parts should automatically extract.

The detail in each manual is internationally generic or US specific. However in the RHD Isuzu Trooper manual, when you see a reference to IGM models, that would normally include the Jackaroo (but not always). These manuals are extremely close in detail to the Holden manuals and a lot better than the $8/$12 UK sourced CDs being sold on eBay. And ... they're free!

So, which manual do you need?

For Holden Jackaroo L8/U8 with the 3.5V6 and 3.0TDi, download all 4 parts of the 98-02 RHD Isuzu Trooper manual. This manual also includes the 3.1TD from the older Troopers, as it was still available in some markets in the later model Troopers. This manual can be useful to the 92-98 model owners as a lot of components are shared (eg suspension, brakes, some bodywork, transfer systems, etc) –

I’m told that the zupload site will automatically delete files that have not been active/downloaded within the previous 30 days. It’s also not a guaranteed service so if you want to download, find a fast internet connection and get cracking before it all disappears into the ether.

EDIT- 13 Oct 05 - All files have now been reloaded after zupload's server crash. So they should (hopefully) be available now for at least the next 30 days.

i have just bought a 2007 rodeo diesel and the replace fuel filter light indicator light comes on when the ignition is switched on but motor is not started , is this normal

max psi boost

Quick question
4jbit engine have installed a boost ajuster. But can only get 12psi max boost on oulet side of intercooler. No matter how much i wind it up. Any Ideas.

Changes

It's amazing what a few weeks and some money can do for the appearance and use ability of a car. First photo is of when I first got the car. Second photo is how it sits now.

Work done to date in no particular order is as follows.

All interior globes changed to LED
UHF fitted.
K & N air filter fitted.
Roof basket fitted.
Side awning fitted.
HID head lights fitted.
LED light bar fitted.
16 x 7 wheels with 245/70 r16 a/t tyres.
LED side indicator bulbs fitted.
New window tinting.
Replaced both tailgate struts.

That's all I can think of for now. Looking forward to using it now.

Uprating D Max towing capacity

I have been informed by an Isuzu employee, that all that is needed to up rate a 2012 model from 3.0 t to 3.5 t is to fit a late model towbar.

Is this correct and if so what are the legal/ compliance implications. ??

Jackaroo 1990 power steering hose leak

Hi
Jackaroo 1990 2.6 EFI Petrol
The top pressure hose where it goes into
the metal housing and metal pipe connector
to the top of the pump is leakingat this join.
I am in Hobart and local spares shopes do
not have a listing for this spare part.
Any ideas for sourcing a spare hose unit
or where the best place to get a new hose
fitted to my existing metal connector.

Frontera wheel and tyre sizes

Hey folks I know this has been hashed out before and for that I apologise in advance. However I have only recently gotten into 4wding and the whole scene. I have a 01 frontera s with factory 15 inch wheels with 235//75 15 tyres. I found a set of later model 16x7 factory rims nice and cheap. Was thinking of 245/70 16 a/t tyres to go on them. What I want to know is is this the correct tyre size I should use to not scrub and God economy and all that jazz. Any help greatly appreciated.

Cant start my 4JX1

Hi, Hope you all had a nice Xmas and new year. I left my Jack for a few weeks until the battery went heaps flat - and now I cannot start it. Turns over fine, but just wont start. have tried all I know, checking fuses, pumping the primer etc. I thought of changing the fuel filter but I cant find the blastard thing. I have the replacement from Sydney filters, it looks like an oil filter, but cant find on the engine where it is.. does anyone have a photo of where it is on the engine? and does anyone have any idea what I can try to get this thing started?

Rodeo 2007 keeps randomly stopping

My 2007 Rodeo keeps stopping - I have to turn off the ignition then turn on again and it will fire up and away to go!!  There is no pattern to when this happens its completely random, but gradually gets worse.

I took it to a garage and they found water and grit in the fuel filter, they changed it and all was fine for about a month.  It has now started again so i took out the fuel filter and the same thing again (water and grit) 

I am using the same fuel station as i always have, no one else getting fuel from there seems to be having any problems so its not just a case of contaminated diesel.

Any ideas??  I need to find the problem before it affects the injectors.

Rattling/rolling noise coming from rear of ute

I'm getting a rattling/rolling noise coming from what sounds like the rear of my RA7 Dual Cab. I have looked everywhere and so far replaced the rear cab mounts and rear suspension. I have been underneath the ute heaps of times and have tightened every bolt I can see. I have checked the spare and anything else I can possibly think of. The noise seems to be mainly when I turn right corners and I have to be going at a reasonable speed. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution as I am out of ideas?

Help with my frustrating 4JX1...PLEASE

Hi guys and gals, I'm relitively new here on this forum, been registered since 2012 and this'll be my second post with the previous being along the same lines but this one will be in more detail.

 

Now these problems are starting to do my head in as everyone I've spoken to has no idea and my last option is the knowledgable people on this forum. I've even had the diagnostic/scan tool connected whilst the problems are occuring and not registering a fault on the tool...Grrrrrr

 

Here are the symptoms

 

1) I can't just turn the ignition , wait a bit and then turn the key, after playing around with time, I have to have the ignition on for at least 15 minutes, prime the pump and then it'll fire up after a couple tries. Any attempt to start it earlier than 15 will just crank and crank.

 

2) while it's idling, for no apparant reason the engine will just cut out, no splutters, no hesitation, just stops dead... then it's back in the engine bay, prime it again and fire it up. Some time it'll cut out 3 or 4 times at different intervals ( 30 secs, 2 min, 5 min between cut out ( it's not like the engine stalls it just cuts out )) ( I'm guessing that there may be air getting into the fuel line but there is no evidence on the driveway that there is any fuel leaks but when I prime it for the first time you can feel that there is no pressure in the fuel line )

 

3) lately whilst driving it you can feel hesitations as if there is no fuel in it, it putts a bit then continues normally then it does it again. It feels a lot like a petrol car misfiring.

 

Little history on the engine.

The injectors were replaced around 16 months ago.

I just got the head reconditioned as the mechanic who did the last service ( supposed holden specialist with deisel engines ( HA. should name and shame him )) used the wrong oil which started leaking oil through the rocker cover gasket. I rang the mechanic and brought it back in the next day and left it with him whilst I went to work, also told him that it was hard of starting ( probably cause the oil he used was to thin and not supplying the injectors with the right pressure. When I picked it up at 8 that night he told me that the glow plugs were in need of replacement as they were the problem and he quoted me 4 hrs to replace them. The following day I went to repco and bought 4 new plugs and rang him as per his quote to arrange him to replace them. He gave me the rant that it was an overnight job and I said...You quoted me 4 hrs to do it on paper and now you recon over night...WTF and then he changed his mind and told me out right that they miraculasly got busy and couldn't do it...

Desperate I rang the boys at GetWrecked 4X4 in Ravenhall ( great guys, always helpfull ) and their mechanic said he would do it just leave the car there for half an hour to cool down a bit and he'd change them.

Half an hour later I got a call from Dave the mechanic " Erm theres a problem Jack, while i was removing the bus bar the plug came out with it" that's a good thing isn't it, " no cause the rest of the plug is still in the head " ######.... When I got there he told me that when he inspected the broken plug it had been stuck back onto the other half with blue silicone, the same blue silicone that had been crammed into the rocker cover gasket where it was leaking before I gave it back to the mechanic.

Long story short, the head came off and was completely reconditioned, new plugs, new belts, new everything, even the primer pump was replaced with a unit out of a Rodeo.

 

I am really hoping that people out there have had similar or the same symptoms as I have and could help me work out whats wrong with it.

I live in Carolinesprings in Melbournes west and I don't know of any mechanics who are really knowledgable with the 4JX1 in this area.

 

Any help or advice would be really appreciated..

rodeo 2002 turbo diesel starting problem

I have a 2002 4 cyl turbo diesel twin cab ute which is randomly not wanting to start.And engine check light flashes when this happens.When it starts after this problem it blows a little more smoke than usual then clears, otherwise runs perfect. Battery is fine  acceleeration is fine idle is fine after a couple minutes with choke on then idles by itself without a drama.  Im Thinking faulty sensor fuel cut solenoid clogged map sensor loose wire aliens or goverment conspiracy. Anyone have this happened to them.Ive downloaded manuals but the manuals arent specifically for my model and do not show were these sensors are, super cheap autopro dont have these manuals with haynes or mcgreggorys any advice would be appriciated or if anyone knows were to get the proper manual.
